Native American Church

These practices, began in the state of Oklahoma, among Native Americans and is the most widespread indigenous religion with Chapters in many US states and also Canada . The NATIVE AMERICAN CHURCH, NAC or PEYOTE Religion is now practiced in more than 50 Indian tribes and has probably around 250,000 members.

The credited founder of the NATIVE AMERICAN CHURCH Movement is Quanah Parker, which started in the 1890s, and was formally incorporated in 1918. Reportedly seeing a vision of Jesus Christ after being wounded following a battle with Federal Troops Quanah Parker adopted the PEYOTE religion. In Parker's teaching the Sacred Peyote Medicine was the Sacrament given to all Peoples by the Creator, and was to be used with water when taking communion in some Native American Church medicine ceremonies.
